" There has been a lot of growth in the Chamber in the past many years. From my recollection dating back “a while” the Chamber evolved as an avenue to achieve representation of the business community through input and collaboration. It was an administratively focused direction initially that evolved over the years and took on a greater role in advocacy and representation. Bringing forward concerns and suggestions from the business community helped shape much of the governance function that is now more prominent.

The Chamber expanded the focus on business and the community through its enhanced Business Excellence Awards which in the breakout year were a highly produced and televised evening! From there the celebration grew as did the recognition and value of membership.

The roots of the annual Country Music Fest at Mission Raceway sprang forth from the Chambers initial creation and desire to highlight Mission. The Chamber was involved in the event for the first few years until it evolved into what it became pre covid.

A strong focus on broad based representation became the next conquest with several years of highly regraded representation at the Annual B.C. Provincial Chamber meetings. Several policy presentations emanated from your local Chamber and became provincial Chamber policy.

The opportunity to be involved in the Chamber over the years has been my privilege!

Advocacy, representation, benefits and support are the unchanging cornerstones of the Chamber."
