Building Community Leadership Project

Are you interested in what it takes to be a leader in the community?  Unsure if you have the skills to be a decision maker in an organization?  Build your confidence, meet others looking to transform Mission and develop the key skills to make a difference in your community.

Open to all community members of any age who are interested in building their leadership potenial, the Building Community Leadership for the Future project provides affordable leadershhip training.

Register for one or all four events.  Participants who attend all events will be acknowledged by the District of Mission as potential community leaders and will have the option to placed on a community leaders register.

Supported by UFV's President’s Leadership  Lecture Series, the project will focus on four key areas of leadership skills development. Click on the heading for more info or to register.

Session One: Leadership Passion (January 28) 9:30am to 4pm

Spencer WestWant to be involved, unsure where you should start or even what leadership means for you? Join Spencer West and Me to We and unlock your leadership passion.  Be inspired to take on the challenge and take away a direction for your leadership potential.

 

 

Session Two: Power of Influence (February 25) 9:30am to 1pm

Ryan WaltersLeadership is a gift. Hockey legend Ryan Walter speaks to the importance of leaders developing the brilliance of those that surround them. Ignite others drive to meet the goals and coach them to their success. Leader Within workshop by Christine McLeod, Impact People Services

Session Three:  Ethical Decision Making (March 31)9:30 am to 3pm

Tamara VroomanClarify your core values and learn how Tamara Vrooman, CEO of Vancity, uses her values to guide her decision making process. Learn how to be ethically fit developed by the Institute of Global Ethics and learn how to use Rotary's Four Way Test to lead decisions you can be proud of.

 

 

Session Four:  Managing Change (April 28) 9:30am to 1pm

Joe Roberts, Skidrow CEOChange is difficult for most. Leadership require to drive change or help others work through the process.  Renowned speaker Joe Roberts, the Skidrow CEO, will inpsire you to embrace change as a leader and understand how transformation is accomplished. The Transformation in Change Workshop with Cathryn LeCorre will build your skills on helping you move through change.
